My home workstation could use some love. Here's what I'm using at the moment:
- folding table I got at Lowe's for my desk (very temporary)
- Lenovo W500 Thinkpad (which I am pretty happy with, despite its age)
- Lenovo Port Replicator
- 24-inch ASUS monitor
- antique wooden milk crate to hold the ASUS monitor (also very temporary)
See my flickr set for photos.
I like the overall positioning of the 24-inch monitor above the laptop and would like to find a way to keep this arrangement while adding the ability to move from a sitting position to a standing position.
I've looked several options including fully height-adjustable desks which are very nice but fairly expensive and a little too "modern looking" for my wife's taste. I've also researched bolt-on options like those offered by Ergotron but haven't found a configuration that will allow me to keep the current laptop/monitor arrangement while supporting the nearly 25 pounds of hardware.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send them my way.
